NEW PROMO CASH&CARRY CENTRE TAKES SHAPE IN RIGA
A new Promo Cash&Carry centre is under construction on Mazirbes iela near the Spice shopping centre and is expected to open in the first half of 2027. Sanitex is also fully reconstructing its Tīraines iela location, with €15 million invested in the two projects. Once completed, the Promo Cash&Carry network will have eight centres in Latvia, including five in Riga.

ERGO EXPANDS OFFICE AT SKANSTES CITY
The insurer has added more than 700 m² of new office space, bringing its total footprint at Skanstes City to over 2,500 m². The expansion is linked to the integration of ERGO and Gjensidige, while the new premises were designed by Lauder Architects.

BOLT LAUNCHES BIKE-SHARING SERVICE IN RIGA
The new mobility option arrives as Riga prepares for major infrastructure works, including the reconstruction of Vanšu tilts, which could significantly affect car traffic. Bolt sees shared bicycles as an additional way to move around the city during the upcoming roadworks.

NATIONAL FOOTBALL STADIUM COULD BE BUILT IN SKANSTE
Riga is considering several scenarios for the future stadium. Lucavsala remains one option, while another is the reconstruction of Skonto Stadium. Around 80% of the preparatory work has already been completed, with economic viability expected to play a role in the final choice.

CONSTRUCTION STARTS ON €50M MĀRUPES SIRDS RESIDENTIAL QUARTER
The development by Invego Latvia will bring more than 400 homes to Mārupe. The first phase includes 50 apartments and 15 terraced houses, alongside green and recreational areas, and is scheduled for completion in 2027.

FIRST ARENA GARDEN TOWERS BUILDING COMPLETED
The 13-storey building in Skanste includes 84 apartments, with more than 90% already reserved. It is the first apartment building in Latvia to use energy thermo-pile technology, while construction of the second building is already more than 60% complete.

TALLINN’S EMPTY ICE ARENA COULD BECOME A SHOOTING RANGE
The long-unused ice arena at Linnahall could temporarily be converted into a shooting range for the Estonian Defence League (Kaitseliit). Estimates range from €0.5 million to €4 million depending on the renovation required, while Tallinn is still deciding the landmark complex’s long-term future.

NEW CYCLE PATH TAKES SHAPE ALONG RIGA WATERFRONT
Traffic restrictions on 11. novembra krastmala will remain in place until 30 September as construction continues. The new 1.1 km separated cycle path between Vanšu and Railway bridges will become part of the 14 km Centre–Ķengarags–Rumbula–Dārziņi cycling route.

“SANTA UN BARBARA” PROPERTY SOLD FOR €1.2M
The 5,408 m² property on Brīvības iela 188 has finally been sold at auction after several unsuccessful attempts. The site includes the well-known Santa un Barbara store building, two warehouses and paved areas in the block between Brīvības iela, Pērnavas iela and Krišjāņa Barona iela. The buyer is a legal entity.
