Get ready—it’s going to be lively and fun. On Fridays you’ll hear DJs, on Saturdays choirs and musical ensembles take the stage, and on Sundays the air fills with traditional folk music. All of it pairs perfectly with a cozy cup of mulled wine and classic Latvian treats.
Kalnciema kvartāls

Every Saturday in December, Kalnciema kvartāls hosts a Christmas market filled with unique home goods and handcrafted ceramics.
This year, residents and visitors are also invited to a pop-up contemporary ceramics fair at the gallery, running from 6 December to 3 January and bringing together around 20 talented ceramic artists from across Latvia. A festive cultural programme will complement the event, featuring open-air concerts, cheerful elves, family-friendly surprises, and creative workshops for children.

The beautiful Āgenskalna market is encouraging you to meet up with your loved ones to discover the Christmas miracle, as time spent together is the biggest gift for everyone. From Friday to Sunday there will be special themed markets both in the outside and inside areas, as well as a cultural program. As there is an amazing street food area on the second floor, this is easily a destination for a complete and magical day.

JAUNmarka

JAUNmarka is one of Riga’s most anticipated December traditions—a vibrant art fair that brings together emerging talent from the Art Academy of Latvia. For nearly a month, the Academy transforms into a lively creative space where visitors can discover new artists, explore fresh ideas across painting, ceramics, jewellery, installations, and multimedia, and take home original works that capture the spirit of contemporary Latvian art.
Each year more than 400 students present the results of their creative journey, offering a rare chance to meet the artists in person and support them at the very start of their careers. Curated selections by respected figures in the art world, warm conversations, and a dynamic atmosphere make JAUNmarka not just an exhibition, but a celebration of creativity and the Academy’s unique cultural identity.

Tallinas ielas kvartāls
Tallinas ielas kvartāls aims to break the stereotype that it’s just a Friday evening spot. The festive programme here includes concerts, workshops, brunches, and much more—everything to help you enjoy Christmas in a fun and meaningful way.
This year, the quarter is also hosting a series of special Advent concerts—keep an eye on their social media for announcements.
Baltics EXPO Christmas Market

For those who do their Christmas shopping just a week before the holidays, this place is an absolute find.
Hundreds of vendors and artisans from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia bring a wide selection of wooden and textile goods, handmade treasures, delicious treats, games, books, and much more. Alongside shopping, visitors can enjoy workshops and entertainment, carousels, and inflatable attractions—a full day filled with the spirit of Christmas.
Pop Up Markets 2025
Ziema lakstos
Since November, Lakstos, which always delights with its decorated windows, has opened two POP UP shops in the very centre of the city—one in Berga Bazārs and the other in the heart of Old Riga on Kaļķu Street. Both shops offer a wide and varied assortment of Christmas tree decorations of all shapes, interior items and candle holders.


The shops are decorated so colourfully that even if you don’t need anything from Christmas decorations, it is worth going there to enjoy the festive atmosphere. And for those who love beautiful shots for social media, both shops have thoughtful spots for colourful festive pictures.
Zuzeum
This December, Zuzeum invites residents and visitors to its Christmas Gift Market — a festive event celebrating creativity and craftsmanship. On 13–14 December, the museum’s Living Room on the first floor will be transformed into a cozy holiday space featuring original artworks, jewellery, design items, and delicious seasonal treats—perfect for gifts.
Visitors can enjoy a warm festive atmosphere, meet the creators, and discover unique gifts for the holiday season. Zuzeum Café will serve mulled wine, gingerbread, and other winter delights, while Biteme Riga will offer freshly baked hot sandwiches.
