It’s tough to point out just 10 out of all places and I’m sure this is a case of the Brazilian football team. I can name a top 10 but there will always be five more lineups of the same quality standing in line. Anyway, here are some of the currently most popular party places in Riga. Each has made place in this list for a reason of its own.
Tallinas ielas kvartāls
A living, standing, breathing proof that artistically thinking minds have the power of bringing people together. It was only 5 years ago when Tallinas Pagalms started its inevitable victory march towards becoming one of the most popular places among people of all ages. During the daytime, it’s where the whole family can come together and everyone will have their share of both emotional and physical fulfillment.
During the night however, Tallinas Pagalms turns into a party zone for people of all interests. M/Darbnīca
Part of Fon Stricka villa assortment, it’s the most newly founded addition to this cultural space. It’s relatively small compared to others in this list so getting in might be a trouble during the peak hours. If you get lucky enough though, you’ll surely understand why this club has become so popular lately. It’s all about modern art, easy-going attitude, cool vibes and high quality music. Both electronic and instrumental, depending on the evening theme.

One One
Now this is all about dancing right here. Very simple and straightforward. Large stage for the DJ with even larger video installation in the background for more powerful energy on the dancing floor. They’re often hosting rave party events here and that’s what this place is all about. There’s a bar too, yes but who needs it really. As it goes with such places, you’re allowed to bring your own water bottle in but the entrance is usually of some charge, naturally.

Teritorija
Keeping it in a dancing mood, we now go further, slightly outside the city center. Teritorija is a club focusing on electronic music from all over the world, covering all the possible genres. From black techno Wednesdays to special guest performances on the weekends by highest quality DJs specializing in Techno, Minimal, House and Acid. It’s a safe place with enough space for everyone to get their party animals out in a collective harmony.

Club concentrating on Hip-Hop music, located in the famous fon stricka villa square. It is highly popular among local influencers, youth and international crowds of all ages so making friends here is easy and simple. They often host special evenings dedicated to new and old school hip-hop artists, Samba, Bachacha and African rhythms. Music to move everybody’s bones, to put in simple terms.

LUST
If you’re looking for expert cocktails in a fancy environment, served by some of the greatest bartenders in the city, then you’re looking for LUST. This is a club that is attended by people in suits and evening dresses. Instead of lager and cigarettes, guests prefer high end whiskey and cigars. Music is cool and flowing like a calm river on a sunny afternoon and you’re just enjoying the ride on a classy yacht.

TOP Club
Riga is becoming more open-minded and progressive with each year. More and more queer clubs are opening their doors to all people interested in having a great time. Which is why it’s a must to acknowledge the place that has already cemented itself in a status of Legendary. Already for years TOP Club has been the place to go for LGBTQ+ friendly people, hosting hilarious lip sync contests and wonderful parties.

Skapis
This is what I meant with new and progressive clubs opening their doors in Riga. Skapis is all about open mindedness and has quickly become the place to be not just for LGBTQ+ commune but also the mayor of Riga together with other local celebrities. This is where everyone can bring out their craziest costumes and truly be whatever they want to be. All the borders of normality are gone and only one rule stands above all – Love.

Tower Club
The highest quality sound solutions met by best local and guest starring DJs. Tower club is another entry in the blossoming neighborhood of VEF and the potential here is incredible. Apart from DJ performances with exciting light shows, they position themselves as a concert hall too. And you know what that means – big bands and solo artists on a regular basis. It can’t get much better than that!

For grownups
Although most of the places in this list are accustomed to people of all ages as long as they’re walking in with an open mind and heart, the following two options might just be a bit more interesting to people in their 40s.
Friends Club
Located inside the tallest and most well-known hotel building in the city – Friends club is where you can go with your existing friends or make a bunch of new ones. Doesn’t matter what age, nationality, ethnicity or sexuality you are. Especially at 3AM in the morning when singing karaoke which is quite a big deal here. They offer multiple areas with tables, a dancing zone, and a very cool looking smoking area for those long talks behind a cigarette and glass of your preferred drink.
Sapņi un Kokteiļi
Similarly to the place we mentioned before, Sapņi un Kokteiļi is a very popular option among people of all ages but there’s one major difference. While Friends club is more accustomed for singing your heart out, Sapņi and Kokteiļi is the perfect place for dancing it all out. Two floors with spacious dancing areas filled with people every weekend. Locals call this the real-life Tinder experience and you can only guess why.
Andrejostas kvartāls
Exclusive for the upcoming spring/summer season of 2023 – Andrejostas Kvartāls. Arguably the best place for a night out during the warm time of the year. It’s like Disneyland for grownups, offering everything from cool lounges to chill and a large, festival lake stage for concerts. All of that next to the port, giving a sense of being away from the city, somewhere near the sea, while really still in the very center of Riga.
