TEMPORARY BRIDGE PLANNED DURING VANŠU BRIDGE RECONSTRUCTION
Riga plans to install a temporary bridge from autumn 2027 to keep traffic moving during the reconstruction, as 55,000–60,000 vehicles cross Vanšu Bridge on a typical weekday. Renting it could cost up to €20 million.

NEW PĒTERSALA RESIDENTIAL QUARTER
The quarter in Riga’s Quiet Centre will feature four buildings with 105 apartments and four commercial spaces. Two will be newly built, while two will restore historic buildings inspired by the Art Nouveau heritage of architect Konstantīns Pēkšēns. The project is planned for completion in summer 2028.

NINE DESIGNS PROPOSED FOR RIGA’S STACIJAS LAUKUMS
The proposals cover the development of the pavilion at Stacijas laukums 4 and the existing building at 13. janvāra iela 2A. The competition is organised by Linstow Baltic and the Latvian Association of Architects, with the winning concept set to shape the future of this key central area.

USED PROPERTY PRICES RISE FASTER THAN NEW-BUILDS
Used properties saw a 4.6% increase, while prices for new properties rose 0.7%. Compared with Q1, residential property prices rose 3.9%, while compared with the same period last year, they were 11.4% higher.

SMILGAS RESIDENTIAL QUARTER TAKES SHAPE IN PĻAVNIEKI
The project will comprise four six-story buildings with 228 apartments. The first 57-apartment building is now under construction at Brāļu Kaudzīšu iela 37 and is expected to be completed in autumn 2027. The quarter will include landscaped courtyards, sports and playground areas, balconies and terraces.

RAUNAS REZIDENCES RESIDENTIAL PROJECT COMPLETED
The four-building development in Teika comprises 102 energy-efficient apartments, all of which have found owners. The €14 million project was developed in four phases, with the final 26-apartment building completed.

DABA RESTAURANT OPENS ITS DOORS
LIDO founder Gunārs Ķirsons has opened the first DABA restaurant in Mežaparks, with a second location on Brīvības iela also planned. A total of €4.5 million will be invested in the two locations, with the chain expected to grow to 20 restaurants within five years.

Bonava Lietuva is adding around 150 apartments across three new buildings in Pašilaičiai. The €10 million expansion will include four-, six- and eight-story buildings with private and shared terraces.

RIGA TV TOWER SET FOR MAJOR RENOVATION
The €38 million refurbishment will add viewing platforms at 100 and 130 metres, as well as protruding glass cubes offering views from outside the tower. Visitors will also be able to step onto an open platform at 220 metres with special safety equipment. Interior design is by Vincents Arhitektūra.

MAGDALĒNAS KVARTĀLS BUILDINGS WIN CONCRETE ARCHITECTURE AWARD
The office buildings at Antonijas iela 17 and 21 have received the 2025 “Concrete Structure of the Year” award. The projects combine exposed concrete with glass and metal elements in contemporary additions to Riga’s historic centre.
