DEMAND FOR HIGH-END PRIVATE HOMES GROWS IN BIERIŅI AND MĀRUPE
Demand for high-quality private homes in Bieriņi and Mārupe remains strong, while supply is becoming increasingly limited. In 2026, 38 private homes priced above €350,000 were sold in the Greater Riga area, with 18 of these transactions taking place in Mārupe Municipality. The market is most active in the segment up to €500,000, while sought-after properties often find buyers even before being publicly listed.

NEW TRAFFIC LIGHTS COMING TO RIGA
New traffic lights are being installed at the intersections of Pērnavas iela and Vārnu iela, and Kalpaka bulvāris and Ukrainas Neatkarības iela. The existing traffic lights at Kārļa Ulmaņa gatve and Vienības gatve are also being upgraded. The works aim to improve pedestrian safety and traffic flow.

More than half of Lithuanians planning to buy a home are considering properties priced above €100,000. The average housing loan is €124,000 in Lithuania, €148,000 in Estonia, and €100,000 in Latvia. Lithuania’s housing lending market grew by 16% from January to May.

FOR A CAFÉ OR HOUSING: RIGA’S WATER TOWERS FOR SALE
Two historic late 19th-century water towers near Vagonu parks are no longer in use following upgrades to the city’s water network. Riga City Council has decided to put the buildings up for sale. New owners could adapt these industrial heritage sites for new uses, such as cafés, housing or public spaces.

STREET ART IS TRANSFORMING RIGA
Two new large-scale murals have appeared in Riga. In Sarkandaugava, French artist Fred Battle created the mural Translation at Alekša skvērs, while in Āgenskalns, artist Ēriks Caune painted the wall of Primo Hotel next to Āgenskalna tirgus.
